Since 1919, Tissage Moutet has developed an exceptional know-how for weaving Basque and jacquard linen in Orthez, in the Béarn region. Historically, Tissage Moutet weaved linen canvas, with sets of different coloured stripes in various widths.
The emergence of looms using a jacquard mechanism marked the beginning of more complex patterns, a real technical and artistic revolution. It’s through this technique, using cotton, and the desire for innovation that Tissage Moutet specialised in coloured, original and high-end table linen.
Weaver and talent developer, today Tissage Moutet weaves for designers, international museums and starred chefs. The labels Atelier d’Art de France (French professional fine craft federation) and Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) indicate and commend the quality work of Moutet for 5 generations.
