5 bonnes raisons de croire aux valeurs made in France

5 very good reasons to believe in "Made in France" values

Why choose "Made in France"?

A commitment rooted since 1874

At Moutet, "Made in France" is not a trend. It is a story that has lasted since 1874.

Based in Orthez, in the heart of Béarn, the Maison Moutet has been weaving for five generations. Despite crises, industrial shifts, and the siren call of outsourcing, the Moutet family has always chosen to preserve entirely local manufacturing.

More than 150 years later, this principle remains intact: to imagine, weave, craft, and manufacture in France.

A choice that makes sense

Manufacturing locally means, first and foremost, reducing the distances products travel and, consequently, their environmental impact.

But that's not all. This proximity also allows for better control over the materials used, the manufacturing processes, and the final quality of the textiles.

In short, when we talk about ecological commitment at Moutet, it’s not just a nice phrase slipped into a brochure.

Bringing a region to life

Choosing French is also supporting an entire ecosystem.

Behind every tablecloth, every dish towel, or every napkin, there are jobs, know-how, suppliers, partners, and a thriving region.

This might be the moment to bring out the great classics: preserving local jobs, supporting the French economy, maintaining rare trades... but these arguments remain terribly relevant.

And since we are talking about supporting the local economy, allow me a confidence. To write these few lines, the Moutet management could very well have called on a large international agency practicing unbeatable rates. Instead, they chose a humble French scribe. I therefore wanted to pay them a heartfelt tribute here. Thanks, boss.

"Made in France" also means quality

Beyond the human, economic, and environmental stakes, there remains an essential argument: quality.

At Moutet, we have been weaving for a long time. A very long time, even.

This expertise, passed down and enriched generation after generation, now allows us to create textiles designed to last. If you already own a Moutet dish towel, you probably know what we are talking about.

We are barely exaggerating when we say they are eternal.
